Veterinarian/Practice Owner
Dr. Kim Carter, DVM
After getting her start working under the leadership of Dr. Richard Wade at the age of 18, Dr. Carter was able to pursue her dream of starting a high quality, high volume, affordable Spay and Neuter clinic. Eventually she was able to return to Canton Veterinary Clinic in 2022 to purchase the practice from Dr. Wade and turn it into the Humble Creatures Veterinary Clinic that we know today, which blends High Volume and General Practice into one. Dr. Carter received her undergraduate degree at Malone University and then earned her veterinary degree at The Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Carter’s favorite part of her job is being able to help animals that are in the most need. Outside of work, Dr. Carter enjoys spending time with her amazing daughter, Waverly, and her collection of pets at home.

Head Technician
Adrian, RVT
Adrian has been a part of the Humble Creatures Team since its transition from Canton Vet, which she had been with since 2017! Adrian has 11 years of experience in Veterinary Medicine and Graduated from Kent State University. Her favorite part of the job is being able to watch the evolution of your pet throughout all their years and being able to educate and build long lasting relationships with our clients! At home, Adrian has Tallulah (cat), Carmella (cat), and Gunner (Border Collie mix) and Winnie. Outside of work Adrian enjoys spending time with her daughter, Everly, riding Side by Sides, crafting, and having game nights!

Staff Supervisor/Surgical Input Assistant
Aliyah
Aliyah has been with Humble Creatures since its beginnings and has been in the Vetmed world since 2020. Her favorite parts of the job are building friendships, helping animals, and being able to witness the recovery of sick and injured pets! At home she has one dog, Rue (Husky), and three cats: Richard, Puffin, and Henry. Other activities Aliyah enjoys are cooking, gaming, spending time with family and music - she is a very talented singer!

Allyssa, RVT
​Allyssa has been with Humble Creatures since 2022 and earned her degree from Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus. Her favorite part of her job is being able to see pets improve and educate the clients! At home she has two cats, Lincoln and Pretzel, and her very special Bulldog, Blue. Allyssa is also working at improving her Ultrasound skills. Outside of work Allyssa enjoys taking time to spend with her family.

Veterinary Assistant
Britny
Britny joined the Humble staff in 2023 and previously was a part of the Stark County Dog Warden. Her favorite part of being in this field is watching ill pets make full recoveries. At home Britny has two dogs; Flip (Neurological Pittie) and Arla (Husky Mix). Outside of work Britny enjoys fishing and fostering neonatal kittens!

Breanna, RVT
Bre joined our practice after preforming part of her clinicals with us and then graduating from Kent State University. Bre strives to give the best care to the animals each day she comes in, not only here but at her other clinic, Wadsworth Veterinary Hospital. At home Bre enjoys spending time with her animals, reading, painting, and scrapbooking; She also likes to participate in indoor percussion in the winter time.

Veterinary Assistant
Carmella
Carmella joined Humble Creatures in April 2024 as her first experience in Vetmed! She has been amazing as an assistant and has been taking on so much new information. Her favorite part of the job is being able to help very ill patients bounce back to health! Carmella has one pet at home, a rabbit, called Big Mama. At home Carmella is an avid movie fan and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Catelyn, RVT
Catelyn joined us in May of 2024 and has been an amazing addition to our practice! Caletlyn had 5 years of Vet Med experience before joining and graduated from Kent State University. At home she has two dogs, Penny and Daisy, and one kitten, Pip, whom she likes to bring to work on occasion! Outside of work Catelyn enjoys fostering for our local rescues and playing a few rounds of Tennis with her family!

Animal Caretaker
Christina
​Christina joined the Humble group in April of 2024 and has done a fantastic job of keeping our animals, hospitalized and our Clinic Pets, happy and healthy! She works behind the scenes to keep us up and running! At home she has Peka, Penny, Twitch, Bareny, Momma, Blondie, and Leo! Outside of work, Christina likes to garden, read, and spend time outside with her animals!

Veterinary Technician Student
Danyelle
Danyelle has been a part of Humble Creatures since 2022, and is currently enrolled into the Penn Foster Vet Tech Program! Danyelle enjoys being able to see the relief the animals get after helping to take care of them. She has three black cats at home; Ick, Bruce, Spice. Outside of work Danyelle loves to color, relax with her pets and fiancé Cameron, read, and binge watch TV shows!

Volunteer
Debbie
Debbie is our wonderful volunteer that comes to help scrub surgical instruments and complete helpful side tasks that keep us moving through our busy day! Debbie has been volunteering her time for over 10 years in the rescue world and continues to donate her time by fostering animals through the Humane Society and Pawsitive Hope Inc.! At home she has her cat Max and Finn (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel)! In her free time she enjoys collecting vintage items, including antiques buttons, and taking colored pencil art lessons!

Heather, RVT
​Heather has been with Humble Creatures since the transition from Canton Veterinary Clinic, which she was a part of for 10 years, with a total of 13 years experience in the VetMed world! Heather studied through the Brown Mackie Vet Tech program and passed her VTNE this summer! Her favorite aspects of the job are being able to help animals in need, educating owners and shaving down overgrown and matted animals! Heather also is a huge advocate of Spay/Neuter and takes pride in ensuring your pet’s comfort while they are with us! At home she has Piper (Dalmatian/pit mix), Sophie (Golden Retriever), Cats - Spanky, Kiara, Kovu, Goose, Tootie, and Maverick, and last but not least, Toby, an African Mud Turtle! Outside of work she enjoys being with her 4 daughters and fiancé, Seth, being outdoors and crafting with her family!

Veterinary Receptionist
Julie
Julie came onto the practice in September of 2023 after gaining 7 years of experience of assisting at her previous practices, and has adjusted to full time reception considerably. Her favorite part of the job is loving all of the dogs (and cats!). At home, Julie has her 3 dogs, Zeppelin (German Shepherd), Bavaro (Newfound Mix), Aurora (Great Dane, pictured above), and Mickey, her 17 year old cat. Outside of work Julie enjoys spending time with her grandkids, her pets, and her church!

Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant, Animal Caretaker
Jenna
Jenna started at Humble Creatures in the spring of 2023 as her first professional VetMed setting, but has many years of volunteering with her mother at the Stark County Dog Warden and Stark County Veterinary Emergency Clinic. Her favorite parts of the job are being able to connect and build relationships with the clients and patients, helping scared animals feel more comfortable while in our care, and deep cleaning during brief quiet times. At home Jenna has three cats - Pierogi, Chicken Dumpling, and Bao. Outside of work Jenna enjoys taking time to draw, try new recipes and experiment with makeup!

Animal Caretaker
Mary
Mary has been our daytime Hospital Caretaker since 2023 and is such a light at our clinic. Mary loves taking time in her day to get acquainted with all of the animals and giving each one love and attention. At home Mary has Smish, a no eyed cat, just like our clinic cat, Billy. Before Humble Creatures Mary worked with the Stark County Humane Society for 10 years. Outside of work she enjoys reading, watching movies and spending time with her Smish (pictured above).

Megan, RVT
Megan joined the practice in 2023 after graduating from Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus. Her favorite part of the job is being able to help her patients feel better and watch them make full recoveries. Outside of our clinic Megan enjoys working with other high volume Spay/Neuter clinics, including Animal Charities of Ohio. At home she has two grey kitties, Turbo and Twin, and back home two golden retrievers, Goose and Benny. In her free time Megan enjoys working and restoring old cars, visiting local car shows and baking!

Veterinary Receptionist
Paula
Paula has been working at Humble Creatures since it's transition, after working an astounding 26 years along side Dr. Wade! Being able to watch clients get new pets and watching how that family grows and adapts to include the new member has always been her favorite part over the past 32 years. At home she has the Shih Tzus Whelan, Tilly, Poppins, Oona and her cat Dennis. Outside of work Paula is most likely spending time with her family and dogs or enjoying a horse race.

Veterinary Assistant
Sheri
Sheri is another one of the original Canton Vet crew and worked loyally for Dr. Wade for 10 years. Sheri is our powerhouse and uses her almost 40 years of VetMed experience to keep us rolling and in check! At home Sheri has Russell, and Sadie. Aside from Canton Vet and Humble Creatures, she has worked with Stark Animal Hospital, Stark County Humane Society, and the Rascal Unit! Outside of work Sheri spends as much time as she can with her kids and grandchildren!

Veterinary Receptionist
Shetzi
Shetzi started at Humble in 2025 after working at the Stark County Humane Society for 17 years. Although she is our newest to the clinic she has integrated beautifully into our practice! Her favorite part of the job is seeing all of the pets and her co-workers. At home she has two pets, Diego (malamute/Beagle mix) and Magik (Ragdoll). Outside of work Shetzi enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, and having bonfires!

Independent Contractor (Dr. Carter’s Daughter)
Waverly
Waverly is the Daughter of owners Dr. Kim Carter and Marko and has been a part of Humble Creatures history since the beginning, being born just a year before Dr. Carter purchased the original practice! Waverly’s favorite parts of the job are getting to pet all of the animals that come in, carrying laundry (or dropping it half way) and helping patients wake up after surgery. Her favorite pets at home are her Chihuahua, Taco Burrito and her horse, Virtual. Outside of work Wave enjoys Dance, Swimming, Horseback Riding and ‘Nastics (Gymnastics)!
